Sally Rooney, born 20 February 1991, is an Irish author and screenwriter. She has published four novels: Conversations with Friends, Normal People, Beautiful World, Where Are You, and her newest novel, Intermezzo. The first two were adapted into the television miniseries Normal People and Conversations with Friends, both of which she co-wrote. Rooney’s work has garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, and she is regarded as one of the foremost millennial writers.

Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2022.
